Beatrix Reinhardt
The Art Shanty Project was a five-week exhibition that took place along medicine lake in Plymouth, Minnesota. The event featured numerous variations on the traditional ‘minnesotan ice-fishing shed’ – together they presented a diverse range of ‘architecture, performances, science, art, zombies, spear-fishing, videos, robots, pinhole cameras, sculpture, knitting, readings and karaoke’. This ‘instant city on ice – part community festival’ was organized and by peter Haakon Thompson and David Pitman and was in 2007 in its 4th year. The project is still going on. For more info about 2007, please read the review by Suzanne Szucs and see these images on flicker.
